How much should I spend on a videographer?

Pricing and rates for wedding videographers can vary, with prices ranging anywhere from $500 to the upwards of $5,000.

We pride ourselves on offering beautiful footage while still being an affordable wedding videographer. We film and record audio with professional and high-quality cameras and audio equipment.  Our concern is quality over quantity. That means delivering the best footage we can, and ensuring that your experience working with us is also high-quality.

Weddings are about love and not stress! Photos and videos look best when the couple is relaxed and having fun!  We also do our best work in these kinds of environments.

What goes into wedding videography pricing?

Time spent filming – The number one consideration that goes into pricing is how much time the videographer spends filming. The longer your videographer is on-site, the more you’ll pay. A videographer can cover your wedding party getting ready, your first look, private vows, ceremony, cocktail hour, speeches, cake cutting, dances, performances, open dance, and other details of your day. Want to save on time spent filming? Feel free to share a draft of your schedule with us, and we can give advice!

Post-production – All of your footage is looked at in our editing software and is tidied up ever so slightly. We don’t aim to be too polished, but we do like to smooth out and mix sound, and do light color correction. Additionally, highlight reels take a bit more editing time and this is also factored in.

Insurance – Reel Love Video is insured and we can provide this information if your venue requires it.

Gaps in coverage – The hours in our packages refer to continuous filming. However, we can also accommodate a significant break in your schedule. For example: if your ceremony is at noon and lasts 30 minutes, but your reception doesn’t start until 5pm, then paying a split fee would be a good option for you. Your videographer cannot and will not take any other work during this time, and will be ready to film when your evening events begin. The fee takes that into consideration.

Professional gear – We only use professional cameras, lenses, microphones, tripods, and other gear. The cost to maintain our gear and stay relevant in the videography market is figured into our pricing.

Extras – We can provide additional camera people, drone footage, streaming, extra cameras, highlight reels, film interviews, social media teasers, rush editing, and any other add-on at your request.

Travel and lodging costs – If your wedding falls outside of a 50 mile radius of our home service markets, there may be an additional charge for mileage or tolls. In 2024, the standard mileage rate is .67 cents per mile. If you aren’t sure, please ask!

If your wedding takes place farther away from our home service markets, lodging and transportation fees like airfare may apply, We love to travel, so please reach out to inquire about this! We are happy to work with you!
